			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Since Comcast is <a href="http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/comcast-cuts-internet-service-bandwidth/story.aspx?guid=%7BE2F1068E-6D6D-4BF7-8331-C93D3653A893%7D">shutting off</a> heavy internet users, why not just establish a daily cap?  Or tiered pricing?</p>
<p>As I was posting the <a href="http://lightsthatblink.com/comcast-cable-internet-bandwidth/">last blog entry</a>, I thought, &#8220;Why doesn&#8217;t Comcast just establish a below 3 GB/day and 3+ GB/day services?&#8221;</p>
<p>If folks watch a lot of video, transfer tons of home movies, or&#8230;you know&#8230;pirate insane amounts of music, they can pay for it.  Then those who just use the web for email, weather, and news would have a different rate.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know&#8230;I&#8217;m thinking out loud here&#8230;</p>

<p>Who downloads four movies every day?!?!</p>
<p>Could this be the next front in the <em>war on piracy</em>?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve got no problem with someone downloading stuff from bittorrent&#8230;but sucking an average of four movies (or 60 music albums) per day from the web does seem a bit excessive and within the rights of Comcast to limit.  No?</p>
